What Training Methods do you use to achieve success with the dogs you train?
At Neon Capital K9 Training, we believe in using scientifically proven methods to teach your dog exactly what we expect, ensuring both clarity and consistency throughout the training process. Our approach is rooted in the principles of behavior science, providing a structured and effective pathway to a well-trained and reliable dog.
Our Training Process:
We begin by identifying your dog’s primary motivators—whether it’s food, toys, or praise—and leverage these natural incentives to effectively teach commands. Using classical conditioning techniques, we create strong associations between cues and desired behaviors, ensuring your dog quickly understands what is expected.
To shape your dog’s behavior, we use a method of luring them into the correct positions, marking the moment they achieve the desired position, and reinforcing their success with positive rewards. Through repetition and consistent reinforcement, your dog will learn to reliably perform commands.
As your dog’s training progresses, we incorporate all four quadrants of operant conditioning—positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, positive punishment, and negative punishment—allowing us to teach and refine behaviors by addressing the consequences of their actions. This balanced approach ensures well-rounded learning and helps build a dog that responds with consistency and reliability.

What types of dogs does Neon Capital Shepards train?
We train all breeds and sizes dogs! We also train dogs that have behavioral issues, including aggression, both with people and other dogs.
What does Neon Capital Shepherds do differently than other trainers?
We specialize in behavioral science based training methods to help you communicate with your pup in a way that they understand.
When can I start training my dog?
It is never too early to start training! However we do want to keep our pups safe. We require that all puppies have all their vaccinations before starting their training with us. This normally occurs at 16 weeks old.
How is your training structured?
We offer private one on one training as well as board and train. We do not offer group classes. We encourage all members of the family to be involved in the training. Classes move at your pups pace. A curriculum is established on your first session.
